Post by: twoleftskis on October 01, 2015, 12:27PM
This thread is dedicated to Alpine Mountain skiing.

Post skiing pictures, reviews, trail conditions, etc. Anything goes. Have you been skiing at Alpine Mountain lately?

Alpine mountain opened up an ice skating rink for people who don't like hills. It is pretty cool, check it out when the snow starts to fly...

Any updates from regular skiers regarding Alpine ski conditions? This has not been a banner year for snowfall in NEPA. Anyone out there?

Checked the Alpine Mountain website and it looks like they're only open on weekends from here on out...

I saw on channel 16 that Alpine Mountain was filing for chapter 11. Has anyone heard anything about the ski resort going bankrupt?

I checked their site (http://www.alpinemountain.com/ (http://www.alpinemountain.com/)) and there's no mention of the mountain being closed. End of season hours are posted.

Now the Alpine Mountain website says closed for the season, no mention of anything else.

Any updates on Alpine Mountain in Henryville and their status as a local ski resort? I don't see anything out of the ordinary on their site other than they are closed for the season. I saw the piece on WNEP about Alpine filing chapter 11 but haven't heard or seen anything since.

Just looked at Alpine Mountain website and no mention of closing or anything like that. Hopefully they get back on their feet. Alpine is not the biggest mountain in the Poconos, it's more like a well kept skiing secret.

They have light crowds which is what probably led to their money problems. I have skied here quite a few times in my life. There's a good mix of hills and you'll get plenty of runs per night at a place like this.

Hopefully someone can post some kind of update before the ski season gets going.
